Ntshumayelo has been training with the Students since September after his four-year ban for using cocaine was overturned by the South African Institute for Drug-free Sport (SAIDS). The 28-year-old is a free agent and can sign outside of the January transfer window if necessary.

“I’m still here at Wits still training. I don’t know, we will see [if there will be a contract signed this month] “We’ll see what is going to happen, I’m focusing on training. I will see as times goes on how is my fitness, you see. “So, I’m just hopeful, training hard. I can feel I’m grand, but I don’t know how the coach sees me when it comes to the level he requires.

“You should ask him, he is the one person that can tell you everything.” Meanwhile, coach Gavin Hunt has added that he may be on the verge of finally putting pen to paper. Hunt concluded: “No, not right now. Well, he only still needs to work hard you know. “We’ll make a decision shortly. He’s much better now, much better.”
