The Gauteng Department of Education confirmed that 28 learners were rushed to Kalafong Hospital to receive medical assistance, after complaining about stomach cramps.
This follows after pupils consumed food bought from the school vendor, the incident happens at Edward Phatudi Comprehensive School in Atteridgville on Thursday.
Department spokesperson Steve Mabona said they are happy to inform that all learners were discharged after receiving a medical assistant at Kalafong Hospital.
Mabona said the psycho-social unit team will go to Edward Phatudi Comprehensive school to offer the counselling to affected pupils with their parents on Friday.
The department will also investigate the cause of stomach cramp and to check if there was something on the food they bought.
