Rand Water which is the main supplier of Gauteng municipalities was planning water shut down from its main pipeline next week Monday to install a valve.

This could affect the water pressure while taps could be left without any water if residents don’t use resources wisely.

Environment and Infrastructure MMC Nico de Jager said: “We don’t foresee that going beyond the timeframe but if it happens, we’re encouraging our residents to save water and to stock up ahead of time.”

This upgrade could also affect Gauteng municipalities which receive services from Rand Water.
