Orlando Pirates confirm release of players!

Soweto giants Orlando Pirates have confirmed the exit of four senior squad members from the club ahead of next season.

The Buccaneers confirmed via their official website that Thabo Qalinge, Abbubaker Mobara, Jackson Mabokgwane and Ayanda Nkosi have all been released.

Though destinations for trio Qalinge, Mabokgwane and Nkosi are yet to be determined, Mobara has since moved back to the Mother City to join Cape Town City on a four-year deal.

Pirates also announced the release of youth players from the club’s ranks.

“The following players have also been released:

“Reanetse Ramatlapeng, Katleho Molaba, Samuel Nkomo, Phumulani Masinga, Phila Mzila, Reanetse Ramatlapeng, Ricardo Lourenco, Riyaaz Nell, Tebogo Ngwenya, Rodi Sibanda, Lucky Mdingi and Zaahir Witbooi.

“The club would like to thank all the players for their service and wish them all of the best in their future endeavours,” read the club statement.

The Sea Robbers are also reportedly closing in on young South African striker Pule Maraisane from Cerkezköy 1911 in Turkey.
