Mbalula, Transport Dept. allay e-toll worries

Following a heated twar (Twitter war), calls for e-tolls to be scrapped and motorists making it clear that they won’t pay e-tolls, the Transport Department has now allayed all worries regarding the controversial system.

Motorists made it crystal clear to Finance Minister Tito Mboweni that they won’t pay e-tolls with Gauteng Premier David Makhura throwing all his weight behind them.

An adamant Mboweni took to Twitter in a heated twar with Makhura where he was reminded of his position.

Just days after the Twar, Mbalula revealed that there could be a solution regarding the system.

“I think it would be grossly unfair to judge Minister Mbalula against his predecessors. The dynamic has changed, the conversation has changed and he will sit down with all the parties that are involved and find the best possible solution. August is the deadline that has been given and August is the deadline that will be met,” said Ayanda -Allie Paine, Mbalula’s spokesperson.

Until August, Mbalula is expected to develop a plan on the future of the system.
