Herve Renard takes up Saudi Arabia managerial position

Following speculations that former Morocco coach Herve Ranard has been negotiating with Egyptian club Al-Ahly to be their next man in charge, it has now been reported that the Frenchman has taken over Saudi Arabia national team hotseat.

Renard handed in his resignation to Morocco after an early AFCON knockout in the rounds of 16. With his history of winning two AFCON titles with two different teams, he was hoping to win it for the third time with Atlas Lions.

The 50-year-old has taken the Atlas Lions to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in France and the African Cup of Nations before handing in his resignation just after they were knocked out of the tournament.

According to a reliable source as reported by Get French Football News, Renard penned a deal to become the new Saudi Arabia national team manager days after his resignation his Morocco post.

“Just days after leaving his post as the head of the Moroccan national team following a disappointing early knockout round AFCON exit, the individual in question is understood to have yesterday signed a deal to become the new manager of the Saudi Arabian national team, ” the report said.
