Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Josta Dladla has rallied behind Amakhosi to view the upcoming 2019/20 campaign as one to redeem themselves.
The Glamour Boys have endured a torrid run in the past four seasons where they are yet to taste silverware, and Dladla believes all is looking well as the team continues with reinforcements ahead of the new season.
Speaking to the media leading up to the game, the former Mamelodi Sundowns man commented on the current changes taking place at Naturena, adding that the new season will be one of redemption for the once known cup kings of South African football.
“We’ve got another chance to redeem ourselves, Pirates came second last season and never won anything. We came ninth and we are still in the building process, people got to understand that and obviously by doing so, you need to find the right player where you are lacking and that is what the team is doing,” he told Soccer Laduma.
“I wouldn’t change anything for the team, the coach knows what he is doing, I think for me, the most important thing is to get the right players for the right positions.
“So far, so good, we are bringing in strikers; that’s where we lacked, we couldn’t score the goals, but defensively we were not that bad although getting the goals was the problem.
“They are still trying to bring in more players to try and fill up the spaces where we are lacking and I think before the end of the window period, the team would have gotten everyone that they need,” he added.
