Zuma started his first day of testimony at the Zondo Commission of inquiry into allegations of State Capture on Monday.

In his opening statement, the former President says that he has been unfairly treated for many years.

” I have been vilified, alleged to be the king of corrupt people, I have been given every other name,” Zuma said.

The former President Zuma has also dismissed the notion that the state is captured.

” It is an exaggeration, is the government captured, is the parliament captured,” asked Zuma.

The lawyer of the former President Musi Sikhakane blamed the commission for not having given his client enough brief.

The commission has admitted that Zuma will give testimony for the whole week.
