This was just one in many parents who voiced out their concerns after pastor Evangelist Pickard Henn made what is been described as “hate speech” to learners during a talk at De Kuilen High School last week.

According to EWN, the pastor was accused of making many controversial statements including that those who are gay and considered committing suicide will go to hell.

He allegedly also told the High School’s learners that those who engage in sex before marriage are prostitutes.

However, in an interview with CapeTalk earlier this week, he denied all the allegations against him claiming that he was called to the school to preach the gospel and he says he never mentioned gay people during his preachings.

The mother who asked to stay anonymous said she told the school to make her concerns known and was yet to receive a response.

“I think parents should be allowed to at least vet whoever is coming to speak to the students so that parents can understand a person’s perspective before they share that with students. We’re living in a multicultural community but there needs to be vetting. First permission should be requested and the subject matter should be cleared with the parents first.”

The Western Cape Education Department says the matter is being investigated.
