Arthur Zwane has labeled Kaizer Chiefs ‘impressive’ following their emphatic 4-1 MultiChoice Diski Challenge victory over Golden Arrows last weekend at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
Arrows started the encounter like a house on fire, opening the scoring in the 38th minute through the head of Ngcebo Nala after a poor attempted clearance from Chiefs.
The young Amakhosi team grew in the game and equalized with five minutes before half-time through Sibusiso Milazi who tapped the ball into an empty net.
They took the lead two minutes later as Kamogela Hoala was put through one-on-one to lob the ball over an onrushing Arrows keeper Sizwe Mhlangu just before the break.
Zwane’s team scored their third as Milazi grabbed a brace after rounding the keeper to make it 3-1, and later it was 4-1 as Mhlangu brought down Rahim in the area to concede a penalty, Yaseen Bunting converted.
Chiefs win sees’ them go second behind SuperSport United, and Zwane expressed his excitement.
“It is a continuation of work with our youth… We played well and I’m proud of the team. It shows we have prepared well. I am mostly pleased about scoring the goals and giving a good performance, ” ‘10111’ told SoccerLaduma.
“I am glad to see the players committed to our style of play. Our aim is to keep working on these boys to develop and believe in their abilities. It is always good to start the campaign with a win.”
The team’s next clash sees them take on Highlands Park at Volkswagen Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto this Sunday.
