The Serbian tactician dropped a bombshell when he suddenly resigned as the head coach of the Mayfair outfit last week Friday, citing ‘personal challenges’ as his main reason for his departure.

Micho had told reporters that he was on his way to Serbia to see his sick mother, and when asked about the Zamalek reports, he clearly refuted them before surprisingly being shortly announced as the new coach of the Egyptian side.

When Micho was approached while at the Cairo International Airport by KickOff.com, the Serb finally broke his silence.

“It will be disrespectful for me to speak and Orlando Pirates are out of the cup [MTN8]. Let things get calm down and after that we can talk later,” Micho told KickOff.com

Micho expressed his gratitude about the message he received from Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane, and made a remark that he will too miss the Premier Soccer League.

“I got the message and was it very touching, having special value and specific value and specific weight when it comes from such a football gentleman and coaching legend like Pitso. We shall still keep the friendship and love of the game.”

  1. Micho is through his neck that his mother was sick and that Zamalek approach him at airport, when he was enroute to see his not so sick mother.
Micho was promised mega bucks to coach them. He is a money monger and fake coach and is not to be trusted.
Very soon he will be poaching Orlando Pirates players to come join Zamalek.

  2. Very disappointed by the so good coach, lied to Mzansi nation about your sick mother knowing exactly she not sick. I don’t trust you anymore, you are a criminal.

  3. People can say whatever they want but it was within his right to vacate the post otherwise the offer was too good to reject. I am sad to see his back but I believe he laid good foundation for Rhulani to build on. Khoza and his hierachy failed him otherwise best teams do not buy so many players every season. We needed best centre back but they failed to buy, instead they bought unnecessary players. Look now they are after Hlatshwayo who is too expensive and too old but there is a young player at Baroka Hassan Banda who is young and is a national team player.
